It shouldn't be a problem, though two coats may be required for sheen uniformity.

Let me start by saying I'm not a pro, but I have always painted the rooms in my house and have lots of experience buying and using interior paint. It sounds to me that you specified BM Aura and your contractor used ultra spec 500 instead? And now you want it painted over?

You can paint over any brand of paint with a different brand or line. You may need to do some prep or primer, depending on what's there and what you want to change to. But before you start painting....do you like the way your walls look now? Are they freshly painted? Are they the right color? If the answer is yes, then you do not need to repaint.

Talk to your contractor about this. From what I can see online, BM Ultra Spec 500 is good paint with a faster drying time, making it a popular choice for contractors. It's not bad paint! But maybe someone owes you a refund if you paid for Aura.

I have always chosen mid-grade paint for my home and have never had a problem with the paint. I usually get tired of the color before the paint job wears out. I just painted a bedroom with BM Ultra Spec 500 myself and was perfectly satisfied with the results (I did have to do two coats, but I always do). I paid $32.00 a gallon for the eggshell.

If your paint job looks good, keep it. You will eventually want a different color and when you do, you can upgrade to premium paint. But don't repaint just for the sake of a label.
