Those don't look structural but those things look awesome! Very grand! Don't buy this house and do modern garbage to it.

Why do people do this crap? Someone spends the money to have a very custom and unique home. Then someone else comes along thats been watching to much HGTV trash. And starts putting garbage in it that looks like every other house out there.

Just keep looking. Theres plenty of cookie cutter houses out there.

Ask for a set of plans and take them to an engineer or architect. Looks like an interesting space. I'm inclined to keep them but this is your home. Are there no other houses available to consider? This will be costly to remove and the floor will most likely need to be completely replaced. Are you up for this adventure? ;-)
