cpartist Which one did you order? I thought the modular tracks made by Legrand were very nice but we didn't get them.

Laura My SIL mentioned them to us and then when we looked into them, thought it was a good idea.

I want them but am afraid they will be visible as we aren’t doing any bottom trim on the cabinet. It doesn’t look like you have bottom trim either, and they aren’t visible in the photos. Are they more visible in person?

Hi strob 06 Yes we have extra overhang to hide the outlets. It’s about 1 1’4”. You can’t see it because the door covers it. I can’t see the outlets when I walk into the kitchen. The only time I notice/see the outlets is when I’m sitting in the dining area and look into the kitchen. Not a problem. Prefer that over having them placed in the backsplash. I took a pix, will try to attach it.

Mine were installed today. Will get pics tomorrow. Ours were not angled but put up against the back of the cabinet light rail. I'll probably be able to see them when I'm sitting at the dining table but that's about it and even then it probably won't be very noticeable.

We put under cabinet tape lights towards the front of the cabinets.

Mishmosh - I think most people use them in areas they don’t plan to use often. I know for me, there is a part of the counter by the sink and fridge that we will have the coffee pot, mixer and such at and I will have regular outlets there. I am interested in the Strips for by the stove where I don’t think I will use the outlets much. The stove will be a focal point in or kitchen and I would prefer not to have the outlets in the backsplash on either side. There will be no appliances “living” there and enough other places I don’t see using these often, but they are required by code.

Here's ours. I keep nothing plugged in on the counter. Our coffee maker and toaster will be plugged in in DH's coffee cabinet.

Looks great skipper! I was on the fence for weeks trying to decide if I wanted to go this route or not. I ended up not for other reasons, but can't deny how clean they make your backsplash look. Just make sure your husband did the following to be within compliance =)

1. At least two separate and dedicated 20 amp circuits serving these counter recepticals. No lighting attached to same circuit.

2. Breakers need combination gfci/afci protection.

After reading this thread, reacquainting myself with what's available for plug mold, and looking at the code, I found out that all of the outlets in my house need to be tamper resistant with the remodel, not to mention the GFCI and AFCI upgrades.

No one I know, in my neighborhood, is doing this in their remodels post-flood. Or, getting permits for anything. I don't get it.

Alex - if they aren’t getting permits that is how they are getting around it. I am shocked by what people do without permits. I have friends who have done whole kitchen remodels taking down walls moving all appliances, etc without permits. That said, it isn’t even a choice for us, the neighbor across the street turns people in. :-0

@cpartist: Are you sure the plugs of everything you’ll be using will be able to fit that strip? I’m not near my kitchen right now to check, but I’m pretty sure the plugs on some of my three-prong countertop appliances (stand mixer, food processor, Vita-Mix) are pretty stout.
