Can I germinate seeds under light

last modified: 8 years ago

I generally germinate seeds in dark and then they go under the lights.

I had a 6 cell tray with 4 cells filled with plants under lights already.

2 of those were empty and I decided to just add 2 more seeds in the empty cells...so the seeds were technically germinating under lights

Have had the seeds germinating under lights for about 48 hrs already. Decided just to take piece of cardboard and cover those 2 that are germinating.

Riddle me this. Or it really depends on the tomato. Germinate under lights OK or preferably dark..
