They're in Michigan, so their climate is similar to New England. I've had good luck with their stock. Many of their smaller trees (the type you are looking for) are listed under deciduous SHRUBS (as opposed to TREES). Their filing system is a little odd, but their search engine works ok.

That looks like a good place, Ed. Thanks for the link. I keep hoping that this next order will be my last, and I will be all done buying trees, but in case it's not, this resource is good to have.

I think that's one thing I missed--preordering. I saw NH State Nursery earlier, but they are out of what I want/need. Fedco, a seed co-op here in Maine with an excellent reputation, also has a great selection...that is sold out. I believe I'll have to do some standard pots this year, and then order bare-roots for next year. It seems that many bare-root operations local to New England require pre-ordering much earlier than now.

Coldstream farm orders can be placed anytime, but they ship at the right time for fall or spring planting, depending on the customer's zone.
