I think the super is considered "improved" meaning more disease resistance, but I honestly can never tell the difference when I plant them. I also switch back and forth based on the seeds I have available. They are very vigorous plants.

That is correct. Sweet 100 was the first to come out, then Super Sweet 100. The name does not mean it has a sweeter taste, it means that it is an improved version. I search this out last year, but don't remember where I found the answer. Wouldn't doubt that it was on GW though. I can't tell the difference either. Since I no longer have any Sweet 100 seeds, there isn't any way to compare.

I had wondered about that too. Thank you. So the "super" refers to the quality of the plant rather than taste. Now that I research it, I find that Super Sweet 100 is hardier, and has less tendency for cracking than Sweet 100. It is indeed advertised as also having more disease resistance. But I've grown both, and been satisfied with both. Super Sweet 100 is replacing Sweet 100. Might not see much of the latter anymore.

I'd always thought the Super Sweet 100 weren't quite as large as the Sweet 100. This year I'm excited to try Peacevine, an open-pollinated version of the hybrid Sweet 100, developed by breeder and first Research Director of Seeds of Change Alan Kapuler. This site mentions super sweet, sweet and Peacevine. http://www.tomatodirt.com/sweet-100-tomato.html So far, the seedlings are pretty strong, and as with the sweet 100, a bit faster growing than my other tomato seedlings.

I grow them & they are good.
