they are METROPOLITAN, in the boston area. but i requested them, it wasnt something they ordinarily make/show. i'm sure if you drew them a sketch of what you like they could say if its possible or not. with the glass inserts you'd have to get the shelves lined up right.

honestly, it was a cheap out for me. i didnt want to buy extra boxes, i didnt want a lot of hardware floating around up there... i just didnt want crazy tall cabinet doors.

Wall cabinets generally start at 54" off the floor. Add to that a 30" tall cabinet and a 12" tall cabinet on top and you're at 96". You'd have a space of 2" above that to do some sort of molding, even if it was a plain starter molding. Do not go with the 24" cabinet, you'll regret it.

The dealbreaker here is does the cabinet line you've chosen have 12" high cabinets in all of the widths you'd need for your kitchen? It is often the case that the higher end lines carry many more sizes than the less expensive cabinet lines. My bet is that the line you're looking at has 18" tall cabinets that will work in this design but doesn't have a full selection of 12" tall cabinets.
