I’d say don’t waste the time unless there’s a specific reason for it.

ihutch we are knocking the wall down where u see the blue tape on each wall but i dont want to knock it from the ceiling I want to keep the crown molding and a little bit of wall under the crown. Wondering if i should do the opening square or have him make a new arch? Thanks

This is a great question, our first instinct is new arch to match the existing opening throughout the home, BUT in this case i would recommend a square archway about 1'-1.5' below the ceiling allowing the crown to continue to flow, maximizing the new opening and visibility to kitchen and natural light.

Di design thanks for your input. Would you also do the hallway and arch above the double doors in the above photo into a square? I was thinking it might make the hallway appear longer? We are remolding this place the contractor said its no big deal having to remove those two just not sure if I should. Thanks
