Something lighter than chocolate for sure. And fabric. Not leather.

I think you still need to consider a pop of color. Orange, teal, lime green. Red is my favorite accent color. I think Martha Stewart said every room should have some red in it.

Too much brown in the room. You are all beige and brown You need color cushions and some pattern. I agree regarding the size of the rug. Way too small. You could get a solid color accent chair like red and carry the color over to the other chairs with patterned cushions.

Also regarding the coffee table...bring some sparkle with a large mirrored tray and add some pillar candles on it. Maybe some coffee table art books might also be nice.

I was only able to find that top rug in 5' x 8' though....

Love the stripe chair from Kelly with the orange rug from way fair also Kelly. Use color. Don't be afraid. It's only furn. But you need a bigger 8x10 rug other does not work. The orange will bring in the interest that this room is lacking.

The teal with the rug next to it. If these are yr choices.

You need something of interest w/ color, like a Tiffany (copy) lamp on your side table. Then you can pick up so many colors for your rug or pillows. ShopHQ has tons of them. .

your room is lovely but it is crying out for some color... soft blues, orange to have it pop, soft yellow, or fabric that has all of the above... maybe the southwestern look or morrocan look would do great! then take your favorite color in the pillow fabric and do two chairs in one or two of those colors... have fun!

I believe Kelly has knocked it out of the ball park w her patterned chair + rug combos. The striped Suffolk (orange) chair + Poeme Corsica Amber Glow rug = beautiful! Look at that stripe! It has the highly-coveted GRAY, which would be a fantastic neutral for your walls! Some larger-scale ceramic lamps would look great. Wonder what Target has? Good luck ebonyivory! Sounds like fun!

yes, orange or red will help the room have more dimension. And a bigger rug. I think for chairs, you need to think about your own comfort, and design style. I love the idea of putting something on the coffee table that will help break up the brown. Good luck !rugs- go to rugstudio.com

Lovely rooms! Add something with pops of color; turquoise blue, red, lime green, bright yellow, or orange! Those pink flowers are pretty, even something that color would be nice! Accent with color!!

You could add some fabric window treatment to help spread what ever color you do pick around the room.

I haven't read the other posts, but no more brown. Don't worry, I had the same problem with adding new colors to my pallet, and it really will make a difference. Red, seafoam green or turqouise might work. Marshalls and TJMaxx are great sources. Set a larger rug on a diagonal ( no brown) and think about changing out the lamps to ceramic, glass or metal to add interest. Even a printed shade maybe. Love your kitchen and wood floors...very nice.

A colored throw on the sofa with some patterned pillows instead of those solid ones would look pretty.
