Can you give us some idea of your price range and/or your cooking style? Are you a weekend gourmet chef or are you a busy family with kids and just need something utlitarian and functional? Helps to narrow the options.

Busy family with kids. We do host a lot of family parties at our home, though. I don't want to spend more than $6k if possible, and don't want to spend that much if it's not necessary. I want a good quality range that is reliable and easy to clean without spending more than necessary.

What’s your plan for ventilation to go with the range? It will cost as much as the range.

A 200K+ project like this really needs more than an architect involved. You need a KD also.

Have you looked into Bluestar ranges? Their stainless models pack in a lot of features for the price. They started as a company that catered to the restaurant trade, so lots of professional chefs use them. Great for cooking/baking and easy to clean. Check them out. I've been to several demos of their product and plan to spec them for my next kitchen remodeling project.

I've had a Kenmore gas range for over a decade and it's still going strong. If I were replacing it, I would get the five-burner style with a griddle in the middle because I make lots of pancakes and grilled cheese sandwiches.
We have several Kenmore appliances, but they are all old, so I can't say if the Kenmore brand is still as reliable as it was in the past. (Our Kenmore refrigerator is 28 years old and just won't die).

Blue Star is a great value.

Thank you all for the input. Hoping to get some thoughts from someone who has bought a 36 inch gas range in the past few years and can comment on their specific model.

I've had my Bluestar 36RNB with griddle for just over five years. Best stove I've ever owned or cooked on. Truly a workhorse with basic design, no electronics, (except igniters) and super easy to keep clean.

Have you had any issues with the star shaped burners and smaller pots/pans?

I recently purchased a Thermador Pro Grande 36” and while I’ve only been using it about 8 weeks now, I really like it! Easy to use, cleans up like a dream and looks nice too! I have three young children so I cook frequently and I find the cooking to be quick and even as well.

I love my Bertazzoni it has 6 burners one of which is a wok burner and one simmer burner lots of BTUs I love the all gas range idea since I like some things baked in a gas oven . My range is used at max very often as I run a catering biz from my home and we entertain a lot. All the top parts go in my DW for cleaning . I also have a double all electric wall ovens . My range is 10+ yrs old and never any problems with it.
