Best cattura downdraft ventilator got jammed when going down

Hello all, so we got this beautiful Best cattura downdraft ventilator installed last year and it has been working great. I cleaned the filters and the front panel during the past weekend and put everything back. Unfortunately it got jammed when going down. It is not raising up and it is not going down either. I can now only see the top portion with the operating panel showing. This is the 2nd time I cleaned the filters and I ran into no issues the first time. Any ideas/suggestions to make it back to work? Thanks in advance.

Crawl underneath and start taking things apart.

Thank you Sophie for your response. Is that the only way, the best way? I try to save it as the last resort.

Call Best customer service/technical support. They should be able to walk you through troubleshooting.

That just happened to me last night. I waited until this am, tried the button again and it worked. Noticed I had put the filters in backwards. They fit, but the when the hood goes down, you notice it either gets stuck, or will not retract all of the way.

I called Customer Service for this, and if it a switch problem. they will cover the part replacement for up to 5 years. It's worth calling tech support as they may be able to help you trouble shoot.
