What do the tops look like now, are they full and lush with big leaves?

Likely need more sunlight.

This winter hit them hard and some of the lower leaves have blackened, but the others are green and glossy. Foliage wise they've been doing well. They are planted in a partial shade location, sot hat might be the issue. We've had others that were bought at a nursery, many years ago and were planted in a similarly shady spot and they bloomed. I'll see about posting a pic, at the moment they look a bit ragged as I said, hard winter.

You said these were grown from seed. Perhaps they are not mature enough to bloom. Peonies, for example, can take 5 or more years to bloom when grown from seed. Just give your plants the same culture your bloomers get and be patient.

Not every form on the market is pink, many independent outlets also have white kinds. And this year I'm encountering the softly colored 'Baby Doll' at more than one store.

I would be happy with any blooms at all, but did see several colors when googling images. These are close to 9 years old, so they should be old enough to bloom. I'm guessing it's an environment issue. I may move them if they don't bloom this year.

White flowered forms are nearly impossible to find.....and very limited as to selection. 'Bressingham White' is about the only one commonly offered and not that often. And all the rest are pink, in varying shade, but still pink.

I was at a new client's today with a robust if somewhat sun stressed patch of bergenia that didn't appear to have any blooms. But they were there in all their unpleasant pink glory, just artfully hidden by the large foliage :-)

My Bergenias bloomed the first year or two before I touched them (I had a gardener). Then when I took over I cut off the dead leaves. I may have been too brutal. They haven't bloomed for four years. The leaves look lush and healthy. Is there any hope?

I have 3 of them for the last two years and none of them have bloomed. They are shaded most of the year but get a lot of sunlight in the winter. I don't know what else to do.

They always remind me of bug eaten cabbage. The Strawberry root weevils usually do an unsightly number on them.

Mine are not doing so well. For the first few years they grew well, foliage looked good, but this year there are few er leaves and they look terrible. I'm thinking this is not a good spot for them. Will move them or rip them out if I get time. Many other projects in the garden.
