The barnwood tile does appear more grey in person than those photos showed!

The bathroom is about 70 sq ft and the color outside is grey

I just went Thur the same thing with my husband we switch to a grayer shower tile . I am much happier it all flows. Tile suggestion American Olean Danea stream.

Tell hubby sorry, but the brown tile does not go with the floor/vanity and area outside. I like what you chose. I would just choose a larger more simple pattern and let the vanity be the star. I do agree with mvcanada. The vanity seem more formal than the flooring.

I don't really feel like either of those choices is right. I like the wood tile for what I assume will be floor tile. I think I can see it working with your vanity which has a bit more formal look to it. The brown is just not right with the vanity at all. The marble is really lovely but I think it is too formal to go with the floor tile.

I'm a little confused though. You are looking for a tile for your shower and an accent for inset shelves? So you had the marble in mind for the inset but still need a choice for the tile on the wall of the shower? Will it just be in the shower or elsewhere in the washroom as well?

What do you think of the herringbone Moonstone tile. This has some blues and browns in it and might pull together the wood look tile with the vanity. You'd still get your herringbone that you liked above but a little less formal looking in my opinion.

Or there are other shapes in the moonstone if you like those colours. They have hex or more classic subway tile shapes on the same website.

I just looked again at the pictures of the vanity. On first glance I thought I was seeing a blue vanity, but I see the description says grey. If it truly is more grey than my monitor is showing, I think I'd find a marble tile that has more browns and greys in it and use that throughout the showerWooden beige 12 X 24. This type of thing might work for you.

The color of the vanity is that little paint chip on the herringbone tiles, my hubby accidentally broke it off the back of the vanity transporting it! so it is more grey than the picture shows, but still a bit blueish. I had the idea in my head that I would have to use more marble to tie it together with the top of the vanity but I’m definitely thinking now that it’s best not to. I like the idea of the moonstone! The colors in that would look great with the vanity. I’ll definitely tell hubby the brown shower tile is a no go. decision making is hard! We’re starting with a completely torn apart bathroom and I’m having a hard time visualizing the end product.

So yes, the idea was that the marble herringbone would be the accent in the shower shelving and I needed a tile for the rest of the shower, and there’s another inset shelf I would use it on near the vanity. Now I’m thinking moonstone for the accent in the shelving if I can find one I like at a nearby store?

Can't ever go wrong with herringbone.
