Is Highpoint NC worth the trip for furniture?

Houzzers: I have a business trip at the end of this week about 15 miles from Highpoint NC. Is it worth it to spend some time there furniture shopping or are the prices the same as anywhere else? I'm looking for a dining room set, banquette seating, and a bed. I also wonder if the shipping would negate any savings (live in Ohio).

Anyone ever shop there for furniture? I thought it was the furniture capital of the universe or something like that....

I haven't shopped there in person, but did order my Stanley bedroom set from Shaw Furniture (not sure if they are still there) about 15 years ago. I saved at least 30%. I would definitely do it again, and I'm jealous that you're getting a paid trip down there. Definitely stop in some stores

If you like Pottery Barn furniture you might want to visit the Mitchell Gold outlet store in Lexington, most definitely worth the trip.
