I personally find tables in narrow spaces cumbersome, but if you aren't likely to hit yourself on it, then go ahead! I'd take advantage of the wide space, and fill the large wall with a collage of frames/pictures, and I'd be daring and place them in black frames (white would look nice too, but I'd stay away from wood, you have lovely floors as a feature). It's a nice space, I think you'll have loads of options. Good luck!

I would make a wall collage. You could find vinyl wall art with a saying or large monogrammed letters and then add framed pictures around it. I agree that all black frames would look nice. Find frames in different shapes, sizes, and materials. You don't even have to put pictures in all of them. Use colorful scrapbook paper or large monogrammed letters in the frames to add pops of color.

Wall panels or moldings and different color paint would give the space more visual depth.

How wide is it exactly? I would place a small demilune wall mounted console at the far wall with a mirror over it to add a visual depth and a vista. The idea of a collage of photos just sems trite to me and too expected. A narrow parsons table with a great big painting on the wall over it will really make the space look large as well. The wall panels/molding will work with this as well. Of course a long runner will also warm up the space. These items can be found in any look such as traditional, modern, or comtemporary. The hall then becomes a corridor which is much nicer.
