I think the white is just too white against everything else. But if you painted it a darker colour, it might blend in better than it does now. I'm looking at the colour of your floor and the counter on the island which I assume is the same as what is on the perimeter counters. I see some mosaic and what looks like travertine backsplash on the island so something to coordinate with those colours. I'm a fan of Benjamin Moore colours. I'm suggesting you might look at the following colours: Natural Cream (OC 14), Cedar Key (OC 16), Collingwood (OC 28), Balboa Mist (OC 27) Tapestry Beige (OC 32) Hazy Skies (OC 48) Gray Owl (OC 52) - that one is a favourite of mine - leaning toward grey, but still taupey or what some folks consider a "warm grey".

Want even more colour? BM Huntington Beige (HC21), Shaker Beige (HC45) Copley Gray (HC104). I have use Copley and it has definite green undertones in my setting. That might not work in your space but it is a really lovely colour. And one more BM Affinity Sparrow (AF720).

Go to your favourite paint store and pick up chips. Don't be shy, pick up many of them. Bring them home and see how they feel. Then for your favourites, go get a tester tin made up and try it out on some a scrap piece of MDF (big box stores will have this). Tape it up onto your island and see how it looks and feels. Tweak it until you find what you love.
