New help figuring out a new plan for the kitchen. Please share your thoughts. I love the symmetrical front elevation. 2379sf

I love the floor plan! I'm not one of the gurus here, but I would get rid of the diagonal peninsula and put seating on the end and side. I would also swap the ovens at the end with the fridge, so others have easy access to drinks. I hope you don't mind me saying but I would consider a JackandJill entrance in the shared bathroom.

    Love it!

That's an awful kitchen plan so I'm glad you want to change it! The angles on the sink/cook top wall waste counter space and storage.

Definitely eliminate the desk. That's a dated feature plus it's in a
horrible location. And the fridge should be move towards the top end of
the kitchen. It's the most frequently accessed appliance so it's best
not to have it deep inside a kitchen.

Can you post a more detailed drawing of the kitchen? Is the 11'3" width to the right edge of the seating overhang or to the right wall?

Similar question for the length. Where is the 17' measurement taken?

Where is the 8' 8" measurement for the nook taken? does that include the aisle between window and peninsula? If so, that's not enough room for table, chairs and decent aisles around the table, let alone an aisle wide enough for back to back seating (60" minimum recommended).

For example. if your table is 42" and seats 6 (2 on each side), you need at least 134" from windows to peninsula, including aisle to make it work. You'll have side aisles just barely wider than minimum recommended for slide past.

I can't picture how the double bay would look. Seems like unnecessarily complicated roof lines, which increases costs.

I agree with heather and lisa. If you want a more open kitchen, you could have an island, rather than a peninsula, which would divert traffic to and from the DR away from the work aisle, and to a coffee/drinks station between the ovens and the DR entry. Would need exact measurements to make sure everything fits in the following (rotated) plan.

That breakfast area is too small to be functional, especially with a walkway right through the center of it. I'd get rid of it and spend the extra money on nice big windows so the kitchen has some light. This is something like how I would do it if it were mine ...
