Super short Avocado and nice Guava.

In Hayward I saw these two together. The Guava is one of those that the "experts" on that fruit forum say wont grow here. Beware of them! You can see they already have some fruit.

The Avocado is a kick..very low branching. None of that 40' tree and cant reach stuff!

    It's a new cultivar produced by, I think, UC Davis that has a commercially viable Hass-like fruit along with heat, drought, and cold tolerance, with the goal of eventually shifting most commercial avocado production into the Central Valley as SoCal orchards dwindle due to development and water restrictions.
