Can you install wall sconces? Because it seems to me that wall sconces and a floating shelf above the bed where you could store a few necessities is the only solution.

I recently had the same dilemma...I didn't necessarily need a ton of storage, but I needed something small and tall (although it doesn't look you need a ton of height) that I could at least set things on top of. I ended up using matching plant stands like the one pictured on each side. They can each hold a lamp and a phone charger. I put knobs on the front of each to give them a faux drawer. I also agree with Lois that sconces would look great if you're allowed to do the wiring in a rental.

You have options!

As suggested above, narrow wall-mount units or small pedestal tables will work. For narrow wall cubbies or storage units, bathroom organization would be a great department to check out wherever you prefer to shop.

Sconces are a great solution. Then consider a C table which slides under a sofa end but could slide under a bed if sized appropriately. Search C tables online- so many options!
