Yes, a rug would really help warm up the room. Is there enough space to put that bench at the foot of the bed? Search art.com for some art with the peach tones you love in it.

I think I could put the bench there but it seems to fit the space against the wall. Wall looks empty and room imbalanced without it there. What would u do in that space?

Yes. It’s actually sitting on the floor and will be placed above the chest

The room looks fairly large so can you move the dresser to where the bench is and get a nice console for the tv? Can’t really tell from the photo but your bed looks gray?

I’m not home but I think the room is about 14x12. Not huge. Not sure I want any more furniture in the room. Was thinking about putting up drapes and then maybe art above the bench. Is that possible?

I would find a rug first and then drapes. Halfpricedrapes.com is a great source. You can order free swatches and the prices are very reasonable. You need to make sure the drapes go up as high as you can. Somewhere around midway from the top of the window to the ceiling so probably order the 96”. I have their white velvet blackout drapes in my master bedroom and they’re beautiful. White would work well if you bring in more color with art and the rug. The bench is really bugging me because it’s too small for that area. If you don’t want more furniture, would you consider a different bench?

Add a large piece of Art and make it the focal point to anchor a room. then Pick up a few of its ( your wall art ) colors in accessories, like pillows, rug, curtains to highlight the piece even more. Mostly, choose the curtains which match the color of the wall art or rug . A rug makes any room look and feel inviting and you definitely want that. also attached some pictures to give you better idea :) I hope it will help to decor your space :)

It’s best to get a rug first because art is generally easier to find and you’ll need to make sure the art meshes with the rug. Not sure what you have in mind but I found these that would go well with your color pallet.

what are the dimensions of your room?? Since you want a clean look I would go for a nice light blush with blends of color in it but in a different size

Room is approximately 14.5 x 12 feet (I think). Lol. I DO want a clean look. So hard to tell tones over the internet. I’m always so afraid to pull the trigger on rugs.

That depends really on which way you want to go. If I were you, I’d go to somewhere like Home Depot and try both a neutral and a rug with color to see which you like best. That way you don’t need to worry about return shipping charges.

Your welcome Kim KP....I just think this rug is more serene and sophisticated and it has the colors that blends well in your room but if you like something more in a taupe grayish color you could do that too. That's true always go to your local furniture store to avoid those back and forth shipping charges.

You’re right about th shipping charges. Such a hassle. I was willing to try something like the ones u showed but between shipping charges and not really being able to see true tones in the color it just scares me off. Maybe I will try the solid shag and get more color from art. Thanks!

Most of the big box stores carry a larger selection on their websites. You could look there and if you don’t like it, most places allow you to just return it directly to the store.

tlparks, you can have the room as is well in minimalist view but what I would change is your lamps and purchase medium size tall lamps you can also place tapestry if you don’t want a painting above your bed. I would add these as lighting.

You recognize that the furniture is brand new West Elm. The room isn’t large so I probably will leave it all where it’s placed. There is only 6’ between the bed and the chest. No room to put chest where the bench is, as someone else suggested. The house is brand new also, so I don’t think I will replace the ceiling fan with a new light fixture. I like the visual u sent earlier. Seriously considering that layout. I like the round mirrors behind the lamps, but I have a large round mirror above a bench in the front hallway, so I was wondering whether that would be too many round mirrors. Maybe if u could tweak your original visual I could work off it. Thanks so much!

That looks much better! You could put a large vertical mirror on that wall. Keep art for above the bed.

Hi! You have a clean canvas! I'd say you can add color with the bedding and drapes- from the same color palette.

Because your windows are small, consider picking light colored drapes or shutters

Are you sure the 7x10 isn’t big enough? You might want to measure it out using painters tape. You don’t want to cover up all of that beautiful wood floor
