Is the 12.5" height specified without the downrod?

I need a very low profile fan with light...around 12" high or less. The specifications say 12.5" height, but is that without the downrod? Can this be installed without the rod?

Thank you for your question! This may not be the best fit for the space- you would need to use the 6" downrod that is included which would result in a 15" total fixture height.
