How about roman shades

Beautiful room. I opted to be a contrarian and used lace tiers and a valance in my dining room. I put light blocking roller shades up to use when I needed them during the heat of the summer. The rest of the time they remain completely rolled up. I decided to embrace the vintage...but I have a 1930's china cabinet too.

We recently removed the blinds in our kitchen and nook and replaced them with woven roman shades. We wanted to keep the area bright with a little privacy-most of the time they are in the "up" position. I am a little nervous about keeping them clean; however, I love that I can see light through them (we opted for no liner but you can add a liner or blackout layer if needed)

Thank you for the recommendations everyone! I have also considered plantation shutters. I'm going to look into roman shades, as well.

Any ideas for what to do with the door? Or nothing at all?
