chandelier selection

Hello Houzzers. ...again. I am amongst 3 projects in the house...all of which I frequently post advice for. Thanks so far for the advice and patience. One of the 3 projects is finishing up the dining room. Its 10'x11' and opens up to the hallway. Table is 42"x 72". There is no room for a buffet nor a rug; neither of which I want anyways. I have a contemporary rustic, kinda boho style. Since this room is mininimalistic, Im looking for a chandelier to bring in some wow. Walls are classic grey and floors a java type stain. Therese are my thoughts at the moment. All are dimminable, under $250 and from 24" wide to 29". Any preferences or are there other suggestions?

    more selection...and the dining room

I really like all 4 of the chandeliers you posted! Since you are looking for a statement piece for the room, I might choose one of the larger fixtures. I don't think you could go wrong with any of those 4, though. Good choices!

As I don’t have photos of your space I can’t really say. However they are all nice so it’s really what appeals to you best. It’s all about personal choices.

Here's the dining space. Its basically a blank slate....though trying to keep it fairly minimal with just light and art possibly new window treatments.

The first thing I would do is to move the plant (Norfolk Island Pine?) to a space that will keep it healthy and allow it to grow. It doesn't fit your space and it looks pretty sickly. Not very appealing.

The Langley Street Ibsen 3 light chandelier would be dynamite in your space..

Wayfair has it on sale right now for $184.80

Pick a chandelier with light bulbs you can find ANYWHERE, without having to carry the bulb to the store with you.

Pick a chandelier that you can clean (and change bulbs) without having to completely disassemble. The Ibsen & the Sputnick look like they use standard bulbs.

What is your ceiling height! Looks pretty dark in there. Glass globes are a bear to clean. That would be a consideration for me. Post type pieces are more difficult to hang at proper level over table. (28-33” above table ideal). Height of total chandelier depends on ceiling height.

    I like the first one.

The ceilings are 9ft. Great advice on the bulbs and cleaning! I know it will be a chore to do and likelt not get done as often as it should. The tree, Im just waiting for it to pass..;) shouldnt take long.

Ok with 9’ ceiling, you have more options for taller fixtures. Just keep them under 30” high in total.

With a 10'x11' room and a 42" x 72" table would something more linear or circular in shape be more appropriate for the space? I'm not particularly happy with any of my chandelier choices at the moment.

There are thousands of drum lights out there. A drum light would look great in your space.

The tree has been rehomed! Now it's a complete blank slate. What color of light finish should I use in here? Black too much? I don't really care for the brass or gold look unless it's just a wee bit. Below is my favorite inspiration pic. Do curtain rod and light fixture have to have a similar finish? Can anyone id these curtains? I'm leaning towards the first light i posted that is brown but have found a slightly bigger version in either black or satin nickel.

Hi rocketgirl, I have not yet found a drum light I really like, those are nice choices though. I'm pretty sure I'm looking for a linear chandelier, non globe and no gold/brass.

Narrowing it down; I am thinking of something along this line. Thoughts? More in the direction of the first black one? The powder room which is across the dining room also has a black light fixture(not up yet though- it's another posting as we are doing work there too). There are no other ceiling lights in the view line from the dining room.

Ok found the one. Can anyone source this or something similar please please!!!

Ok , working on the lights...just about narrowed it down. Next on the adjenda, curtains or art on the back wall? There is only 25" on each side of the window to wall. The window frame is 65" wide; if hanging curtains how long is the rod?

The first one was the closest I have been able to find to my inspiration.

I purchased the Darien and it it will arrive by months end. Curtain suggestions? I'll need a 108" and then hem a bit. Art? Any other ideas since there will be no rug or buffet in the room?
