Here it is open. Doesn’t seem to be fragrant. Depending on what it is, I figure it could end up being 5-8 feet.

I love orange and yellow in other people’s gardens, but not mine. Yellow lemons are allowed. Yellow cucumbers, peppers, etc. Oranges and grapefruits are allowed. Peaches. But no orange/yellow flowers. Even peach hues have to be very special to be allowed. I’m very persnickety about color. :-)

There isn’t anything else at the nursery that I really wanted, but a credit would be useful. It is very pretty though, so I’m considering it. One could go in the each of these areas.

I figure it would only bloom for about a month. Then in the fall it would add some kind of fall color, I’m not sure what it is so I don’t know what color the foliage would turn in the fall before going deciduous.

Anyone have any ideas of what it is? Opinions on if I should keep it or return in? What’s the consensus?

I like orange and yellow combined with blue (or purple) too... I’m just really picky on color in my own garden.

I have them set in that area for now to visualize how it might look.

Not fragrant now, but could it be a fragrant type that will develop fragrance in time?

I live in an area with very limited choices for azaleas and rhodies due to our long and cold winter, so I am afraid that I can't offer any ideas. IME it will either have scent this season or not at all. I have not had any that developed scent in future years, though scent intensity can vary some with weather.

That’s my experience too. I’m just wishful hoping. :-) Such a bummer to think I scored 2 Fragant Stars, then have no fragrance at all. Although it is pretty enough that it’s making me contemplate growing it anyways. I really wish it was fragrant.

More blooms opened today and it’s a bit humid since there’s a chance of drizzle tomorrow. Guess what?! It IS fragrant!!!! Not super strong, but definitely fragrant. A bit like a mixture of jasmine, tulips, freesia and honeysuckle. So I’m keeping them. :-)

I have them pots where they will go now, but they’re going in the ground today. I like it peeking over the rocks. The bright green foliage will look good here. I am curious to see what fall color it adds before it loses its foliage. I wish I knew what it was. I’m still leaning towards Armeson’s Gem, but I am not a pro at all and honestly have no idea.

I think I can divide/move some pacific coast irises that bloom the same time to the area to add some deep, dark blue and purple contrast. The ones below are good contenders. They’re the colors I want to contrast with, they’re blooming the same time and look like they will be ready to be divided in the fall.
