Backsplash, hardware, lighting . . . help?

Well, we’ve made it this far. Cabinet frame is painted (Behr Swiss Coffee via Sherwin Williams), waiting on doors & drawers to be sprayed. My Thunder white granite is in. I love it even with tiny doses of raspberry thrown in!
Now I need help with backsplash, hardware & lights, please.
Thought I wanted light gray subway, but I wanted to see it together in my kitchen. Not sure the gray does anything with that granite.
Maybe the designer white subway which is more off white like the cabinets without having a yellowish cast. Light gray grout?
Brushed nickel faucet/hardware?
Should I keep the dining room light & try to replace the glass with a lighter/white color? Which would mean going with ORB pendants over the peninsula & sink? Or start with a clean slate? Brushed nickel instead? I like the idea of clear glass pendants so as to not obstruct the view. But am open to suggestions for style & size!

Here’s the current dining room light & a better view.

Ok I nearly had heart failure for you after viewing the last picture. My first thought was they didn't match the seam on the counters well and is there a nice way I can mention it to you, without also upsetting you. Then I realized that was a lowered section of the counter and actually follows the patterning beautifully. Phew! It's a beautiful granite.

I agree. On my screen, I'm not liking the gray with it. I'm thinking one of the off whites. Maybe the fourth from the bottom? Of course what looks good on my monitor might not look good in real life so get a full sized sample.

Please find a more updated fixture. What style does the rest of the house lean?

You can go with the brushed nickel handles or even the dark one. No need to be matchy matchy.

I like brushed nickel handles. The one on the left is my fave of the three. I don't think gray subway. Too much gray. Maybe the white b/c the cabinets are white. I don't think I would throw in off white. And, I agree, I would update your dining room light. I love the kitchen overall, though. Great choices!

cpartist, sorry for that scare! I appreciate your concern for sure! Yep, it’s a lower counter under that window.
I agree, I could not find a gray that worked. And in real life it looks to me like that 4th little square up is too beige for the granite. So, if my cabinet color (which I think goes fine with the granite) is a little creamier than the white in the granite, which way do I lean for the backsplash? Even “off whites” vary.
Thanks for your honesty about the dining room light. That’s what I needed to hear. I’m not sure how to categorize my house! Traditional that I’d like to move into transitional but mostly an out-dated collection of stuff. Lol! I think I like something similar to these kinds of pendants but not sure what dining room light.

Thanks, kelleg69! I was leaning toward the brushed nickel hardware. We have ORB doorknobs/hinges so I figured I could go either way for lighting. Starting off with a new dining room light, which finish would you suggest for it & the pendants over the sink & peninsula? I thought if I went with ORB, it might need to be minimal trim to keep it from being too dark? Any ideas of a style that would look good? The only other lighting in the kitchen, LR & den is recessed (aside from lamps.) Here’s our faucet.

Catgo, what a beautiful kitchen you've created. You will love it for years. The darker back splash is perfect. Love, love, love all your choices -- wouldn't change a thing. The red appliances are a nice touch. Can we move in? LOL

What are the two pads next to the sink called? Good idea.

Now you need a motion sensor LED Light plugged in an outlet. Mine comes on as soon as I reach the entrance (about 20 ft. away) and goes out when I leave. So great when you just want to grab something quick or have your arms full. This is just one style but there are many other beautiful designs.

This is 40 watts which is just enough. I have them in my kitchen, all bathrooms, the guest room and laundry room. No more lights shining all night and no more walking into a dark room grouping for the light switch.

Tiffany66, I am really happy with our kitchen, despite my L-O-N-G decision making processes. We already had the red appliances & I still like them, but it's nice to hear that you do, too!

Those are just dish drying mats. I had been using one to the left of the sink when I washed dishes. My husband likes to keep out his drink glasses perpetually on the right side, and since my granite does etch with water spots, I just added one on that side. There may be something prettier, but it was a quick & functional solution.

Love the motion sensor LED lights. Definitely going to go look for those! Thanks for sharing that idea.

    okay thanks

Tiffany66, mine are reversible with a gray/white “marble” look on back. That kinda clashed with my granite though.
