Roman Pillars indoors

What is the standard size for a Roman Pillar? I plan on having it at my dining room. It is an open plan with my dining room, kitchen and living room. I have 9 foot ceilings. Would 10 inches be too over bearing for the room. Besides I am having one full roman pillar and two halves. Please advice Thanks
