washer question

I have a top load Whirlpool Cabrio washer and dryer - dryer is okay but
my clothes come out of the washer in tangles and extremely wrinkled.
I've tried all their suggestions and instruction and it could still be how I'm loading it but
can't see how else to do it. No center agitator Anyone had a similar experience and any
suggestions?
