no. Let it flower. And then snip off the fruits when they are about the size of a pea or a bit larger. I've kept as many as 3 fruit on a small tree but believe it has hampered its growth. Having said that, I also have had citrus sneak another bloom and another fruit-set after thinning ALL of the fruit - - so you have to keep watching these sneaky buggers.

Curious where you are and what you got and on what rootstock(s)?

I bought a standard tango at costco in vista,ca. The tag doesn’t say what root stock it’s on. I actually only bought one tree at costco as the others I ended up buying at a local nursery.

I’ve been trying to find a tango so bought it to see if it will survive near a creek bank on my place.

You will love the Tango and it should do terrific in Vista !

With a "standard" tag, it probably is on Carrizo. My Tango is on C35 and has grown steadily, It has produced great fruit starting the second year, but is not a huge producer - which is just fine because I don't have a fruit stand to get rid of the excess!

BTW: my citrus on Carrizo seemed to sleep for two years before taking off. They also like slightly acidic soil / feedings. Be patient and measure your pH - of the soil as well as the irrigation water.
