Help identifying weed

In the last few weeks as the bermuda in my yard has started to green up, I've had an issue with one particular weed that has been spreading through my yard. I'm trying to figure out what this weed is so I can figure out what I need to use to get rid of it. Anyone know what it is?

Perhaps Daucus carota. If you dig one it should smell like a carrot.

I went and pulled a few of them up. The root is thick and a few inches long on the bigger patches. It really just smelled like dirt to me, but a few of them had the beginnings of white flowers ... just beginning to grow, almost hard to see. I did some searching on the internet and it looks like you are likely correct about what it is. I read that 2, 4-D is one of the recommended post emergents to use on it, which I have some of. So, thank you very much. I'll apply some of that tomorrow and see if that gets rid of it.
