Area rug, is it too small ?

Just got the area rug that I like but I am wondering about the size! It is 5x8. I used to have an 8x10. So I wondering if my eyes were just used to the bigger coverage. Or if a 5x8 is actually too small for my space.

I think it's too small, but just curious try turning it around so that the carpet sits under the sofa but not over top the fireplace hearth.

the rug size is okay.it blends well with the floor space and woodwork.

I find it's not the size but the shape that could be wrong. Maybe a square rug would be nicer ?

You need a square rug that fits under the feet of both couches, but does not extend beyond their ends.

Would you be willing to move your furniture? Maybe even separate the sectional? It now looks shoved up into a corner and the fireplace is not being highlighted.

Asking people here if your rug is too small is like asking if you need air to breath. And they say size doesn't matter, Ha!
