Exterior Color Clash

Long story as to how I got to this point, but I need some advice on the siding color for my house. The roof and brick color must stay the color they are. The gray siding can be replaced. IF we keep it I’m thinking black shutters and posts with gray stone. Ideas??? I really don’t think the gray matches.

Since the bricks are a beige from what I can see, I would do the darker shade of beige for the siding ,but now the problem is the roof its dark grey and beige will not work for the siding ,the light grey doesn't work with the bricks ,so the only option that I can suggest is to go with white for the siding. No shutters please they will look fake since they wont be the size of the windows.

yes the taupe is nice but somehow the blue gives the house warmth I like the blue best , good job Jennifer!

I tried every color I could think of and the only thing that seemed to work was white as Genevieve recommended. It seems to be the only one that neutralized the roof some. The second choice color surprisingly was red. I would get fantastic wood garage and front doors and stain them. Large and layered lighting. Large house numbers easily seen from the street. Fabulous landscaping. No one will question your color choices, they will be too busy admiring your cute house with the awesome doors.

You could do the darker color in the brick for siding and if the roof is dark grey, do shutters in the same color grey as roof to tie them together.

What about doing a pergola over the garage to distract from the roof color? Then do front porch posts in the same color wood and anchor them with stone that has browns and grays? The last pic Is what we’d wanted it to look like.

I like the wood-tone doors suggested by Rawket Grl, especially the entry door with the black wall sconces and the black urn planters against the ivory trim and with the matching wood-stained garage door. Maybe the same wood tone on the gables would look nice too. If not, try the ivory trim color.

The garage door shouldn't be dominant so try to blend it in with the bricks and make your front door the main attraction.

Jennifer K - what program did you use to change the siding colors? I’d like to play around with some other color changes

    bfannin, I use gimp ( https://www.gimp.org/ ). It's like Photoshop except free.

Maybe you could add more architectural/molding detail in order to tie everything together. Have white trim, a siding color that ties in the brick (like a light taupe) and then either a white triangle at the top or a deeper shade of taupe. I’m not explaining this well. The picture sums up what I’m trying to say.
