Long shot apple ID

I know this is a long shot, but a friend of mine went to the Devon Botanical Garden scion swap and came back with some lovely scions for her trees. One problem is that she put a name of an apple onto a piece of tape and the name she used was Maimi. I have researched this and cannot find any apple that matches this name so I am assuming she spelled it wrong. Any ideas on the real name or is this a variety I have never heard of.

Could be from me...called Miami...got it about 12 years ago and fruited the first time...not sure from where I got scion from. Can't find anything on the web..I'll ask around ...

Bernie has it and said...I have, its an older prairie apple, maybe from Miami, Manitoba. Nothing special from what I remember. Sort of like a Battleford.

As I remember, more crisp then Battleford and yes, hasn't got the WOW factor I'm looking for...but any apple can be used.

I will give you guys a thumbs up for the wonderful show. She thought the vendors were very helpful, informative, interesting and friendly. If calving wasn't at the same time I would certainly go. I definitely will try and take her to the fall tasting show.

Yes, Miami was an old apple
that's supposed to be hardy but it never survive at CDCN. I believe you
must have got the scionwood from Gabe as it is growing at the UofA
farm, about the only place in
