This is the $20 size right? I am guessing because I have never seen one of these on their website. Looks pretty good sized. No matter where you purchase your tree(s), the odds are you are going to have CLM to deal with.

I kinda like the Bearss.... especially if you leave it on the tree until it begins to yellow. Unfortunately, for exports and most international markets, a little yellow is either banned, or considering as rotten.

Guatemala exports a lot of Bearss, as does Mexico, Brazil, and Uruguay. In Spanish it is called Limon Persa (Persian lime)

Huge tree, gorgeous, and a great deal to boot. Must've been an experience seeing it waiting for you. If it were me, I probably would've jumped around the box for a few minutes before dragging it in lol!

This isn't related but I see some trifoliate leaves in those used RBF containers. So small and adorable! Are those the flying dragon ones you mentioned purchasing recently?

Alanna, definitely post some pictures :). Kvet, I absolutely did a happy dance while my dog stared at me lol. Good eye - those would be my little trifoliates! They are growing like weeds!

I missed this post! Pretty cool Kelley. Considering most of the trees that I see come from Harris are bare from the soil like up most of the stem, I am surprised at the nice foliage along the length (although maybe that is how they do their smaller ones). And the new growth at the top is a real bonus!

Thanks, Jenny! I was surprised at the foliage along the trunk as well - figured it would be bare. My mom bought me a Tarocco from Harris for my birthday that should be here Wednesday. I have a Villafranca on my need list, then I’m done! (For now...lol)

I haven’t tried the Tarocco yet, but I’ve heard nothing but good reviews. I bought this Moro yesterday at the farmer’s market in Dekalb. It’s the best I’ve seen all season.

Jenny, I told my husband that I only have one more on my list and he just laughed LOL.

Kelly, is that the International Farmer's Market on Ponce de Leon? I went there in March and the only blood orange they had was the Moro. I was hoping that it would have more variety of oranges to choose from. There was a sign saying Tahoe Gold or Shasta Gold mandarins (can't remember) so I bought some, but when the cashier rang it up, he said it was a Murcott. Whatever it was, it was delish!

I keep saying I am almost done with buying trees, but then I read a little about this variety and that one. So I have 2 more on my list then I AM DONE. There is a mandarin at FW that I have been eyeing and the Tarocco. I haven't decided if I wanted the premium or entry level Tarocco at FW because I have been really disappointed with their products for the past year. Kendra if you see this, check your email. lol.

Yes ma’am, it is! I try to visit monthly as their prices and quality are unreal! It’s only about a 30 min or so drive from me.

I noticed a lot of prices are good, but not all of them. The price of onions were higher than those of Walmart at home. The next time I go will the first weekend in June.

I used to go to the YDFM on Ponce when I lived in Atlanta - one of the best grocery / farmers markets I’ve had access to; I definitely miss their produce selection and low prices.

Denise, definitely check out their selection of spices and olive oils. A large container of thyme usually costs around $1.29 and a 3 liter of extra virgin olive oil is only about $20.

Nice looking Bearss Lemon tree, Kelley! I have one from Harris and it is a strong grower with lovely foliage, buds and flowers. Yours should do well from them with good care.

Kelley, I hope Harris sends you a lovely, healthy, Tarocco Blood on a good rootstock. Please post pics and share what roostock it is grown on. I also have 2 blood oranges from Harris grown on swingle rootstock. The Tarocco and Budd Blood have nice foliage, blooms and set a few fruit throughout the summer into fall, but they are extremely slow growing. They did not have great branching, and I am going to trim the Tarocco to see if it helps with more upwards growth. They were a bit on the small, slim side when I received them and they loose most of their leaves in the winter. If they don't push out more growth this year (2 1/2 years in pot) I will get rid of them and just purchase a blood with better rootstock , I believe I will look for a dwarf, somewhere else, perhaps fourwinds..

Thank you, Jinny! Just curious: what size Bearss did you purchase and how long till it started blooming? I will definitely post pictures of the Tarocco and include the rootstock. I’m about to scrap a few Moro seedlings that I started in January - they haven’t even developed true leaves yet.

My tarocco is still lanky, but has small fruit growing. I’m sure some will fall off, but I hope one or two hang on.

Kelley, I purchased a one year Bearss for $20. It is the only size that Harris carries. It had a few scattered blooms in its first year and had more buds and blooms the next spring and set fruit but the fruit naturally fell off. It currently has a couple of small lemons on the tree, but they are not growing in size. They will probably fall off. I am hoping it will flower like crazy this spring.

Kelley, they probably up potted the larger $20 dollar trees recently that is why they will be ready in August. Bearss are fast, strong growers. Your tree should put on some nice growth this year.
