It was probably too hot on your west window. It needs good light and humid soil - not wet, not dry. So water - and 15 min later - splash the water from the saucer . You can fertilizer it with AV fertilizer. After it finishes blooming - it will eventually start looking ratty and will go to sleep. There is a good size tuber under the soil - so you want to preserve it for many years to come and enjoy it every year. I keep them under fluorescent lights - and have them blooming more than once a year.

The damage on the leaf is probably mechanical.

Thank you! It has a couple of buds that look like they will open soon but the leaves look horrible and limp. It's not happy with me but I will keep trying. Thank you for the advice and the name!!

If the leaves are limp - it is either soil is dry - or soil is too wet and there is damage to the roots. It easy to check the soil... use index finger... you can spray water on the leaves - it will help
