That depends. What area in your home are you flooring? Can you introduce rugs or soft mats on top of the ceramic tile? There are, as you are probably already aware, many products on the market in both categories. Do you have any pictures you might be able to share?

We are putting new flooring throughout our 1981 home. The dining/kitchen/utility rooms have 1981 Congoleum :), the entry 6x6 ceramic tile. The hallways and bathrooms will be done as well. I thought to have the same flooring for continuity, and I like that over a "chopped up" feeling.

I like the look of some of the new higher grade Congoleum , am worried about keeping grout clean if I use tile, and am worried about standing while cooking/canning for long periods of time. I could use mats, of course, but I don't like to.
