Definitely need some color. I would replace the rug and the curtains with something a bit more colorful and appropriately sized. The couches should sit their front feet on the rug and the curtains should hang above and outside the window and be about 2x the window width. If you are looking to replace the coffee table, something a bit modern in gold and glass could look nice.

I feel like your area rug is overall far too contemporary for your sofas. I would replace with a Persian rug. I would also bring the sofas’ front legs on to the rug, making the space more intimate and cosy.

How about cream colored solid coordinating drapes in a heavy fabric for both the dining and livingroom areas with oil rubbed bronze rods, hung higher than where you have the now. A smaller centerpiece in glass with gold shine vase and some black iron candle holders. A nice stack of traditional books on a coffee table with a decorative accent topping them on a coffee table next to a lamp. And a large plant in top of the China cabinet.

I would do the glass table. That will lighten the space up a bit. So would adding some living plants or flowers. How about changing the art? You could simply change the image in the frame to something less regimented. (maybe take a look at Minted) Possibly hang it horizontally. Are you planning on a new rug? Something like the rug in the picture below would keep to your preference for a limited palette but make the space far more elegant.

I don't think I would add much colour for the effect you want,I would mostly add gleam and shine. Pillow-wise,something similar to the ones in the above pic could work for you. Your current pillow arrangement looks pillow heavy, the front and center pillows in particular really drags the space down. Maybe remove it and see if the pillows you have left,with an added luxe throw (like in the pic) are enough.Also,if you choose art with a smidge of colour in it,let that colour be an accent that you repeat in a subtle way two or three times throughout the room.

Are the sconces over the sofa electric? You need mood lighting. If you want to show off this room, you need light. Do you suddenly flip on the overheads? At least one floor or table lamp is indicated.
The room is formal;that you have achieved, however I feel it is overly ornate and oppressive.
I remember my grandmothers parlor.....scared me as a child.
The prints of urns are now passé....I know, I have one in a bedroom...hard to purge.
As suggested, you could use a bit of interest...be it bling or whatever.
Others have given good advice...give it some thought .

I would not put another piece of heavy,swirly,carved anything in this space. The couches alone are enough.The torchere,sconces, & sidetable all are heavy and swirly,too. A more spare glass table with enough heft would work better. Wood could,too.

I'm not a designer, but my first impression is that it is extremely heavy. I sincerely believe you desire a heavy, ornate look, but I think it can be scaled down a notch and still achieve the effect you want. Creams, taupes, and another subtle color can do wonders here. Best of luck.

An oriental style rug would lend a more elegant look to your living room area. Dining room window dressing in a silk or silk look fabric with some shimmer, with sheer panels underneath. Hang high to elongate the window height.

Also, pull sofas closer together with at least the fron feet on the (new) rug and closer to coffee table. If that make the room awkward then sofas may need to be positioned as an "L", with wnd tabe and lamp forming the corner. Your coffee table decor could be an elegant tray, or a display of 1 - 3 items.
