French door window treatments

I recently painted my bedroom Antique Jade. I'm really please with the results.

I have plantation shutters on my bay windows. But I'm not sure what I should put on the French door. The shade that's there is in poor condition. I have some of the floral fabric that's on the bed. Enough to trim a window treatment. I just have scraps of the others.

I had thought of a roman shade with the floral trim. I had also though of a wicker shade, but I didn't think it would go with anything else.

I didn't know you could do shutters on French Doors.

I see Shutter Company you're in Connecticut, I'm in Texas. But there must be someone around here who does it.

I like to be able to open the window completely though.

I would have a cornice at the top that's upholstered in the floral fabric. The cornice will cover the white wood blinds when they are all the way up. You can get a bracket to hold the bottom of the blinds in place when they are all the way down. I live in Texas and that's what I have on my French doors. It looks great and allows for the light control flexibility you need for the extremes of Texas weather.

The shutter on the door is too bulky and intrusive. Look at ODL door inserts with blind. The blind is in between the glass with full control to you. The look is clean and keeps with your decor. Cost is also around that 250 mark and if you are handy means you will have no additional costs.

If you go to hunterdouglas.com and click on the dealer locator you should be able to find a dealer near you who can answer your shutter questions. You can also google Norman. They make excellent shutters also.
