Germinating dioscorea seeds is tricky and I've yet to figure them out. But it seems like everytime they don't sprout and I reuse that soil for an established plant the seeds sprout. So as an experiment I decided to sow seeds in pots with established plants.
So far 4 out of 6 d. elephantipes are up and 8 out of 8 d. sylvatica seeds are up.
This is the most success that I've had with germinating dioscorea seeds so I think that I'll be sticking with this from now on.
