What color rugs would you suggest? One long runner or multiple small ones?

A long runner and the room would be vastly improved if you dropped in pops of color. Find a beautiful rug and take off from there.

Fresh flowers on the vanity. Orchids last two months in bloom. Paint the floor grout lighter to match the tile. Add colorful towels. Art where unused towel bar is over the tub, unless the towe bar is also a grab bar.

A full-length 30-32" high framed mirror placed midway between the lights and the backsplash.

I would hang white fluffy towels, artwork, a vase of flowers on the vanity, and a pretty valance over the window to add some color, and a runner in front of your vanity. What colors do you think you would like to add to your bathroom? What colors are in the rest of your house?

Does the grey paint really work with the color of the counter, cabinet, and tile?

I'd get an oriental runner.

Paint the brown door of med cabinet the same color as door and trim...remove the shampoo bottles from ledge and corral in a waterproof tray or basket. Do you really use all those products?

We think getting some live plants will really help, along with getting comfy towels in a white or blue. You could also put a piece of art on the wall wall above the tub.

tqtqtbw's third listing of the multiblueish aqua and the towels is beyond yummy and would make your bathroom look gorgeous.

You have a beautiful space! I agree with some of the others....adding some color with a plant, flower, rug, and/or accessories such as bright towels and prints will bring some personality to the space and brighten it/soften it up. You don't necessarily need to add much to make a difference. Good luck!

So I took most of your advice in the last few days.

I added a runner rug, changed up soap bottles, added a basket, added art over bathtub, painted grout to make tile look new and added other decor. Does it look any better? Anything else you would add?

Last question - how would you add two framed mirrors over my cabinets since they're at different heights? One counter is much longer than the other and I think it would look a bit odd if both mirrors were the same size. Perhaps I could add a long rectangular one over the long counter and an oval one over the small counter?

Unfortunately I don't believe that I can frame the existing mirror because there's an electrical outlet at the mirror bottom. It's about 1 inch from the bottom of the backsplash which means the frame could only be one inch wide; which is too skinny IMO for a mirror of that size. Any other ideas?

I think it looks nicer :) I would pull the runner up to the sinks so you can actually use it.

I know you just added the hardware, but it really blends in. I would choose something that matches the finish on your faucets.

I think two mirrors would work fine. Same mirrors hung at the same height centered over the sinks. Your backsplash is the same height all the way along, which helps. I actually prefer sheet mirrors, though.

You've been busy! It looks very nice although I do agree with Emily that satin nickel or chrome hardware would brighten up your cabinet a bit and that you should pull your runner closer to the sink.

In the case of your mirror, I would leave the sheet mirror as is. It reflects a lot of light and keeps the bathroom brighter.

I have the runner centered between shower/bath and cabinets for a practical reason. The shower/bath water will go on the rug and it also is close enough to stand on while looking in the mirror. If I move it too close to the cabinets then when we step out of the shower/bath water residue will go on the tile instead of the rug.

Also I hear you on the hardware. I was trying something different to go with bronze since my light fixture is also bronze. I’ll definitely consider swapping for nickel in the future.
