See if you can relocate the purple plum tree (?) and other deep red bush. Remove the planter box. Move the Purple plum to a expanded bed to the right of front of house. A curved bed going from around 10’ from front right for a specimen tree coming around curving to the driveway with new shrubs and flowers. I would paint the front porch and columns darker gray to coordinate with roof. Some texture such as large gray boulders in the landscape would be lovely. Doug showed great examples. Bbl

Here are a couple inspirational photos. Showing large boulders and specimen trees etc. Not sure what climate zone you are in so you need some local assistance to suggest appropriate plant and shrub materials. You have a very nice hone so it should be fun to do.

Wow, Thank you Doug and Flo for some great ideas! We do realize the 2 cherry trees are in the wrong place. Also the planting bed is definitely too small. Since we are in Northern California, it is very expensive to maintain the front lawn and keeping it green! We will definitely hire a landscape designer and really appreciate the feedbacks. it will help us have more constructive conversations with the designer. Thanks again!

Just some quick updates on our front yard! We are very happy with the results. Most of the plants are already growing and blooming! Haven't seen the full benefit of water usage yet (probably because we are still doing watering the plants with drip irrigation). Hopefully will see that once the plants are more established!
