Need help with large and tall fireplace wall

We are “frozen” in regards to what to do for our fireplace wall.

Our home has an early 1970s funky flat roof modern design

We are hoping to “hide” the large 65” flat panel tv by painting the fireplace wall a dark color, possibly black.

The wall separates the dining/kitchen area from the living room. It’s 16’ tall and 9’ wide and 36” deep.

Any suggestions on a shade of black you’ve used? Or another medium to use for fireplace surrounding.

We plan on installing a linear style 60” wide x 18” tall high output gas fireplace below the TV and removing the existing large piece of art above it,

Between the TV and fireplace we need to install a mantle to deflect the heat from fireplace from hitting the TV.

I was thinking of painting or staining the mantle dark too.

    Here is what we ended up doing. We decided to keep it light and bright and just paint the wall the same color as the room. We can alway tile it in the future if we get tired of it.
