I couldn't help myself....

So here I was a few days ago @ my favourite local nursery when I spotted a table with a bunch of mini hostas. Went over and saw it was a species, H. venusta, one I didn't have. I scan the table and spot a container with a plant that's sporting. A no-brainer, had to have, besides, it was only $10.

I was too busy to deal with the plants the same day but a couple of days later here' what they fell into: 3 plants.



Now I have 2 pots with 'Kifukurin Otome' and one with venusta, what a haul for $10!

    Very nice haul, but you probably can't call the sport Kifukurin Otome just yet. It may mature as a slightly or much different sport, and in fact it already appears to have wider yellow margins than KO. You may well have something completely new. Which is a good thing, especially given that it's clearly got the vigor of venusta.

    As you are probably already aware, there are multiple 'types' of venusta as well, but again, until you have a mature plant it will be difficult to determine which type you have, if it's even possible to determine.
