A review I read said that it is not designed to be hardwired. But one of the options is hardwire so I'm confused. Can I buy one designed to be hardwired?

The power supply is necessary to install in a 110V application. You can cut the plug off of the power supply and hardwire it in. You can then cut the other end off as well, if needed, and run your own wire from the power supply to the lights. Or you can just plug the power supply into the lights. You will have nearly 4ft of wire to do that.
