Thanks to all of you who replied and who gave great suggestions! I am new to Houzz and haven't mastered how to reply to you. Can someone help. :-) Sorry. Yes, we have a leash law...dogs are on leashes but the owner still lets them do their thing on our lawn. I bought a sign and hopefully it will work. Anna, yes, I caught two people and approached them but we have many dogs with disrespectful neighbors and it's hard to catch all of them. They don't carry bags. Maybe it's time for a camera. I have also contacted a landscaper. Thanks!

In our area, most every dog owner picks up after their pet. It is the expected behavior and the law, so most people won't directly disrespect homeowners. Most problems here are from pets who get loose and wild animals. My bigger problem is neighbors who let their dogs wander into my flowerbeds.

I've considered going to a very low, temporary fence like that wire fencing on a roll which is about 8-12 inches high or making something with wood stakes and one or two horizontal slats. Out by my sidewalk where I have very tall plants, I've put up a pair of 16 to 18 inch metal stakes and ran three horizontal wires to keep my plants from spilling over the walkway.
