My two cents...
1. I'd swap out the shutters for window boxes. The window boxes visually extend the windows and add some pretty charming architectural detail where its needed. On this house, shutters feel too heavy, and almost feel like parentheses around each window. I think they feel forced.

2. I'd beef up the portico columns and add detail to its gable. This helps to make it more inviting.

3. If it's within scope, I'd widen the entry door opening to include sidelites, ditch the screen door and paint the entry door a nice pop of color. I'm thinking blue. Add a new portico light that feels more cottage or carriage house.

4. The body of the house should not be too close to the brick color. It should stay lighter, but go to more of a taupe. The eye needs a break from too much of the same color. Lighter freshens it, darker makes it seem dated and too masculine. Think about this for when you want to sell down the road.

5. The landscaping is bringing the whole property down. I think it should be tamed and feel more tailored to bring the house a bit more upscale.

All of these changes are relatively inexpensive to do. It seems to me that you could get a lot of bang for the buck. You've already got a pretty charming little house, but with these changes, I think you could really turn up the charm a few notches.
