While my front yard has 10 sprinklers split between three zones, the back yard was set up with only one zone containing three heads that cover half the yard. I think the previous owner had a garden in the other half. As you can imagine I have always wanted sprinklers to cover the entire back yard, so last year I took the time to add one sprinkler head. I did not see a drop in performance and it really did help the grass.

This year I went through the hassle of renting a trencher and doing all the work to add another three heads for a total of seven on one zone (yes, too many). In retrospect, I should've hired this out, but now that I've started I need to get it done.

I fired up the system and . . . nothing happened. Obviously not enough pressure. I found a leak and fixed it and tried again to no avail. I then removed one of the heads to take the system down to six heads, but that didn't work. My last effort was to remove the remaining two heads that I had just added at the ends and plug the hoses so that I would be back to the four heads that worked last year. The heads still won't pop. Could the 60' of additional hose be causing a drop in pressure even though the ends are capped? I'm starting to run out of theories.
