My turn to start! I'm sitting at work bored and its past midnight, so I thought I'd do something moderately productive. I already washed the ambulance...

Happy Sunday everyone!

@angela - there are a number of different styles of tomato cages. The cylindrical ones you get from HD do the job sufficiently, but next year I'm going to try building tomato towers... Saw some on Pinterest and thy look pretty awesome.
i love lizards!!! but probably wouldn't want one crawling on my face in the middle of the night to wake me up! good luck ez catching it! :)
angela..this ain't pretty, but it works for moi! :) I only planted one lone mater plant this year! And my first one of the year is going to be ready to pick fairly soon! Can't wait!!

MP, your flowers are beautiful, I love mixed bunches of flowers like that. My new garden has grown amazingly while we were away on holiday, so I hope I will soon have a few flowers too.
thanks busy! and that's not all the variety I have! It's insane!
So you made it home safe and sound! yay! or are you crying because you are back home and back to reality?
ez, my delicate little sweet kitty (she is a catch and release kinda gal) brought me two chipmunks, after searching for over an hour, I found clinging to the lining of my dining room drapes; she found two little field mice (they are hard to catch); and her prize of the week, a big black grackle, who landed on my beams and pooped on the floor!

mp, tomato is going to be delicious. What's your favorite way to eat them?
little salt and pepper, sliced is fine! but I love some fresh mozzarella with it of course and fresh basil! yum! my first one will probably be a tomato sandwich though....little duke's mayo with salt and pepper! old school southern style! :)
Yes we are back and have come down to earth with a bump. Should have landed at 8.30 a.m. Saturday morning, but due to aircraft problems, we didn't land until 5.45p.m. on Saturday. We had been up since 2.45a.m. In order to check in at the airport the required 2 hours pre flight! So it was tiring and disappointing considering its only a 3 hour flight anyway. It has been cool and raining all day today, which has not raised our spirits. Never mind, we are back to work tomorrow!

    Yum yum yum!

One of my neighbours is mowing their lawn and their lawn mower sounds like its obits last legs. It's revving as they mow. It sounds painful.
    *on its. Not obits. Autocorrect.

Well, we are flooded on the back nine today but they say it's starting to receed. Here's the thirteenth fairway...the geese are enjoying their new lake... and the second shot is from behind 16 green...the path is covered, and you can see the top of the pump head where I was standing yesterday. It's covered in water now.
Here is today's painted project, still in garage.
Pity I didn't take before pic.

Was Brown stain with brass hardware.

kimdee...so glad u are safe from all the water! What a way to spoil your golfing though!
-Eztia..glad we don't have lizards and didn't know they bite!
This pic is of same place, and pics just don't do it justice...he did all the brick with reclaimed bricks and it goes all around the home.
Eztia .. poor little lizards! They are so small, compared to the roadrunner .. how tall can a roadrunner get?
MP gorgeous bouquet..It motivated me to go make one!
    Judy...great dresser!

Bobbi...I miss u already, please come back.
Good news -- my dad, his gf and his sister were helicoptered out of Kananaskis to a casino nearby, they are safe, and are being bussed to Calgary where hopefully he can rent a vehicle and come home. The motorhome will be stuck where it is for at least a month until the bridge is repaired and he can go back and get it.
Eztia...so the lizzards r pests there then? They bite too? I didn't know they did that! Most lizards carry salmonella don't they?
Kimdee...great news...too bad the motorhome is tied up for a month, but glad everyone is safe and sound!!
    Me too, Jayme!

bobbi, judyg is getting pissed off here. Respond to my email. I took the time to tell you how I feel about you and how I believe roo feels, too. At least give me some kind of response. I mean it and you know I do. Get back here. Now! We have been together for many months. Do not give this away. You, roo and I go way back. We have wonderful new friends. I will give you my phone number. Do you want a Boston College/CapeCod slap? It is much better than a slap from Australia.

Roo is concerned about you. Embrace the fact you have someone you have never met who cares for you and what you are feeling right now. Roo listens to you and she only has your best interest at heart.
Ok, Bobbi this is getting serious. I/We miss and need you.
MP-what kind of flowers are those from your garden, nice dresser JudyM.
The roadrunner…goes: "meep, meep"? We all have our own wildlife and we get used to whatever. That lizard?..no way, Jose.
Thanks judyg. Didn't get much sleep last night, I really am concerned.
On a lighter note and talking wildlife - Miss 7 having a wonderful time this morning.
They are lorikeets, very friendly birds. Pity it was so overcast this morning so you could see them better. They are eating sultanas M7 has in her hand.
Roo-I posted a picture last night that shows the tile placement that I was thinking.
roo, the bird is wild, in your yard and just flies into Miss 7's hand? Amazing. Looks like a parrot. We have nothing here that comes close to that bird. Actually, we have no bird that would come that close. What a gift.
Bobbi-before I go to bed I want to send good Jamaican vibes your way. I appreciate and respect you and not sure if I will be able to stay on here if you stay missing. You have been a source of keeping me in line, putting up with my antics and no matter what always helping me. I feel like we have met even though we have not. I salute you in all that you do.

roo, sleep tonight. You have been a good friend to bobbi and me, and all of us. Never would you mean to hurt. This is a bad time for bobbi and she has to work it through. Hopefully, she will come back to us.
Judyg - these two have been around for a while now - I used to have about 15 - 20 come for a feed but strangely these two only show up now when we have rain. They are a type of a parrot. They do tame quickly (especially when food is involved). They often come around at dusk too and a flock of them can be extremely noisy and they are quite silly birds. Actually I have to be careful of these two with the grands around, they have been guilty of sitting on my chair and bonking. The silliest thing with them is that I can hold a piece of bread in each hand but they will only go to one hand and sit on top of each other to feed. If I put down 6 pieces of bread on the table they will both only eat from the same piece, even fight over it.

My gut instinct told me the waters ran deeper, judy.

I, always thinking of the next meal, found this recipe. A can of white beans, rinsed and drained, some cooked ditalini pasta. Mix with olive oil and lemon juice, toss with green onions, salt and pepper and top with prosciutto.
This dish has loads of protein, few carbs and very little fat.

Serve with toasted Italian bread rounds.

    Dear Bobbi,

I sincerely hope you're taking a breather for the day. I think it's safe to say we love you and only want the best for you. Now don't make me come down there....

roo, do you have any cats? I think you said you did. The cat does not scare those darling parrots away?

    I know, roo, me too.

twenty of twelve here. Going to bed. Love to all. We have become good pals.
Me too, off to bed I go, back to reality in the morning.
Judy, no, my two cats died, we have one next door, but the birds don't seem too concerned. They all seem more clever than the cat.

Night, night to all, everyone has gone out here so am determined to give the house a thorough clean - I've forgotten what kids can be like.
Off to bed as well. Sending love to each and every one of you. xoxo

Gee whiz, I typed in yesterdays date and commented. Holy cow, had to think about how to find the olld thread it's been so long. So glad to see some of the original ollds still around and many new ones too. So, hello to all :)
Well, that pretty much sums up the last few months for me.
Great to hear from you - you have some company now your side of the border and your age group so you should enjoy even more. What have you been up to?
Since there was already a new discussion I didn't see Sunday morning, I'm not starting a new one for Monday .. although I don't see an OLLD 6/24 either!!

It was already warm & humid here at 6 AM .. ugh; that always takes the starch out of doing anything!
Morning Astraea and anyone else who's up and about, happy Monday (?)
It is very muggy Astraea, at least I had some help from Mother Nature with the watering of garden last night.
I try to leave my MBR windows open overnight, but had to close them due to the rain (no overhang). When I went out on the deck at 6 am today, I was surprised at how warm & humid it is .. already!! If I don't go for a walk early, it will probably be miserable later on!!
I've started an OLLD 6/24 discussion .. hope it's not a duplicate, although I don't see anything else on the list!
Kd.. Glad your dad is staying safe..where are u?

Olldbobbi.. I grew up with cement counter tops, my aunt had them, they are easy to clean. Don't have any installation advice bc I remember them pouring this thing...
