We have found that HD or Lowes just can't get it right. unless it's a stock color from the same brand. You may need to try a Sherman Williams or other Expert paint store in your area. those guys can start with the formula but then make adjustments by eye. So naturally it comes down to the person mixing the paint and sometimes you need to try different places. Hope this helps.

You are right, the HD scanners don't do a great job of translating colors.

You could go to the HD paint desk during the day during the week (when the full timers are most likely working) and ask if there is anyone who color matches by sight.

We haven’t painted in a while but the guy at our Home Depot really rocked it and the match was spot on. But even if it wasn’t, I sometimes think that we tend to get too wrapped up in the color game and forget to realize that even if a color is slightly off on the card, when it’s up on the wall, no one is going to know, especially because lighting and the way it reflects in the room will change the tone or look of it anyway.

I’ve had terrible results attempting to color match at Home Depot.... Dunn Edwards does a good job where I live.

to Add my two cents about color matching.....you always take a chance that the color is not true when having another paint manufacturers try to match it...I have done it in the past with ok results....the only color that went wrong was a Houzzer online had SWWordly gray mixed by a different co. And it was completely off...Behr has some beautiful colors best to just pick from their samples.

I have never seen an exact match from one brand to another done "in store". Never. Very close,sometimes.

Sorry to here you are healing broken bones HI WE:(! Trying to match colors from other paint companies is a c$@p shoot at best! Each company has their own pigments and formulas so even if they scan the color it is going to be a bit off! I just had a client who tried to get a sample of BM barely beige at HD to see how it would look! Well of course I get a phone call all worried it’s not right! Out I go only to notice the sample is Not from BM and so off color as to be a completely different color!

Mary, I agree with the other comments regarding color matching being iffy. I would just stick with what Behr has available.

Chloebud......I rolled my left foot so Bad I broke 2 bones! In a boot and using crutches for 3-4 weeks!! I am not a happy camper:(

Sitting still is not something I do very well!
