How did you waterproof the tub?

I am currently designing a shower room with a freestanding tub in it. The major concern from my contractor is how to prevent the tub drain from leaking residual water from the shower spray. The bathroom is situated on the 2nd floor of my home and is directly above my dining room. No leaks is a must, any suggestions???

The tub in this wet room is at the high point of the floor slope to the shower drain which is right where you enter the room. So looking at the photo, the floor slopes toward you from the back wall. Additional we mortar set the tub to the floor and sealed it. We have had no issues of water in 4 years and even longer on a nearly identical one we did.

Love how the light plays on all those angles. Absolutely beautiful job.

How do you access the shower heads? Are they fixed -screwed into position or can they come off to spray the nooks and crannies of the body?

How far off the floor are the hand-held wands located?….they look very high.

We will be constructing (diy) a very similar bathroom. Is this tub self leveling? Recommendations on tub brand or specs?
