Usual question. Is this a sucker? Please help.

This green shoot seemed to spring up really quickly and my lime tree has not produced as many flowers or fruit. Bed on its location I'm really having trouble determining if it's a sucker. It's fairly straight and thorny. Even if it's not, it is right under a fruit bearing offshoot, and may make things crowded. Thoughts. Should I remove it?

In general, the tree is a little misshapen. The primary stem shoots off to the side quite a bit. Trimming this would accentuate that lopsided-ness. But if it's draining nutrients, then let the tree be crooked.
